HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

     I joined a Fitness club in January of 2016 and decided to give the personal training program a shot. I am originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan and had trained with a couple of personal trainers back there and thought I was in probably in the best shape someone with my body type could ever be in. However, since I relocated to Florida, I had unfortunately let my fitness regimen and diet go. And while I wasn’t necessarily totally out of shape or fat; I certainly wasn’t happy with the way I looked or felt. Donald Hughes was recommended to me by the Director of Personal Training at the club and WOW am I glad I signed up with him! Each training session has been different and Donald always finds a way to keep it interesting. He is always positive, happy, and really makes the half of hour of pain actually enjoyable. In just 4 1/2 months, through proper clean eating and Donald’s constant support, encouragement, and fitness training, I have lost a total of 15.8 lbs, decreased my body fat percentage by 5%, and have gained more confidence than I’ve ever felt in my 34 years of life. I get compliments from people everywhere I go, which is always so nice to hear, but the best feeling is that I feel better about myself. TRAIN WHILE PREGNANT

     I trained with Donald while pregnant and couldn’t be happier. He helped me achieve a healthy and fit pregnancy by guiding me through weight lifting as well as cardio exercises that kept me in great shape throughout my entire pregnancy, while rehabilitating a knee injury. We worked together throughout my entire pregnancy and still training today. I would highly recommend Donald to a trainer to anyone, regardless of their fitness goals and/or injuries.

HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

     I’ve been married almost three years and happily married at that, “too happily” if you know what I mean. I am 5’2 and weighed 145 lbs when I first started training with Donald. All my clothes were beginning to not fit and nothing I put on made me feel good about myself. Donald gave me the motivation and tools to start changing my life. He not only helped me lose the weight but he also gave me valuable suggestions to help me reach my nutritional and personal goals. In 7 months, so far I’ve lost 15 lbs. I went from a size 9 to a size 4. I’m stronger, leaner, and have a ton more energy. I have a more positive attitude and I look forward to our training sessions. I really feel he cares about his client’s success and has been one of my biggest supporters. It is the best thing that I have ever done for myself to know that I’ve reached and am exceeding my personal goals.

WORKS WITH INJURIES

     When I started training with Donald, I was not very motivated to workout. Although, I have spent years in the gym, I was frustrated with my lack of progress and overall goals. Donald started to work with me and the passion I felt for working out started again. I have gained a ton of lean muscle mass; all while nursing an injured back from previous car accidents. I am not able to do the fun, crazy exercises that I love doing but Donald has worked with my back injury to help me maintain my goals and strive to continue to work out throughout the healing process. Along with weight training I appreciate that he incorporates swimming and biking into my exercise regimen so I am able to increase my cardiovascular endurance without injuring myself any further. Working out with Donald makes going to the gym such an enjoyable experience.

PUSHES WITHIN REASON

     After being a Division I Athlete, professional athlete, and overall active person, I had found myself in a sedentary job where I was not happy with my body composition. Multiple attempts and frustrations of going to the gym, walking around trying to do weights here and there, I found myself to be upset, out of shape, and not confident. I was beginning to give up on my strength and conditioning. I had tried personal trainers in the past, however, I felt like they didn’t listen to my wants and needs. After my first initial meeting with Donald, I knew that it was going to be a different experience. From day one, he met me where I was with my energy level, assured me that it was a process, and supported me with working towards my goals. He was able to incorporate plyometrics, fun and innovative exercises, as well as cater towards my sports specific preferences. What was most important to me was to have a trainer that would push me to my reasonable limits, maintain professionalism, and help me reach my goals. I would highly recommend Donald to anyone whom is seeking a trainer that will help them reach their goals, while creating a safe environment of vulnerability and understanding of limitations.

Keep Pursing Health

     I trained with Donald from November 2014 to June 2015, typically one to two times a week. I’ve been pretty active off and on throughout my entire life, however have had difficulty with getting into a routine and maintaining a consistent workout plan. Donald has motivated me to get back into focusing on my health and challenged me to work out harder than I ever have. What makes working out with Donald so great is that he switches up his workout routines focusing on high endurance training along with heavy weights and building muscle. He also checks in on my diet and sends motivating messages throughout the week which helps keep me on track. Since working out with Donald, I feel better, I eat better, I sleep better, and my clothes fit better. I feel healthy and inspired to keep pursuing my health and fitness goals and could not have done it without him!

PUSH THROUGH THE REPS

     I have been training with Donald for a few months now and I have found that he is an awesome trainer. He has a very passive approach to his training methods, which is nice because he’s not so in your face. He always has a session ready for me that is challenging and pushes me when I want to quit. He is knowledgeable and uplifting. He genuinely loves what he does and it shows. Donald has also showed me new ways to use the weight machines to work different parts of my body, that I never would’ve known about or figured out on my own. Donald has always been thoughtful, encouraging, passionate, diverse, tough and professional. We always have a good time, he makes me laugh, which helps take my mind off the arduous task at hand. He takes me to levels I never knew my body could reach, because without his encouragement, I would’ve quit many reps before. He makes my body hurt so good!!! Over the past months working with Donald he has personalized my exercise routine and made excellent diet suggestions that fit my very busy schedule.
